1、 Reactive power compensation device (TBB)
The main function of high-voltage reactive power compensation device is to improve power factor, reduce equipment capacity, minimize power loss, and also stabilize the voltage at the receiving end and the power grid.
The high-voltage reactive power compensation device mainly consists of parallel capacitors, series reactors, and corresponding primary and secondary equipment.
The high-voltage reactive power compensation device mainly determines the compensation capacity based on the reactive power required by the load, so that the average power factor of the assessment point meets the user's requirements.
2、 High voltage filtering compensation device (LC)
The traditional method for filtering compensation devices is to use LC tuned filters to control harmonics while also taking into account the need for reactive power compensation.
The filtering compensation device mainly consists of filtering capacitors, filtering reactors, and corresponding primary and secondary equipment.
The main function of the filtering compensation device is to ensure that the harmonic current injected into the common connection point by the harmonic source is within the specified limit, and that the reactive power compensation of the device can meet the requirements of the load for power factor and bus voltage deviation within the range of load power variation.
In practical applications, commonly used types include single tuned filters, second-order high pass filters, and C-type filters.
3、 The main differences between high-voltage reactive power compensation and filtering compensation
The main difference between reactive power compensation and filtering compensation is the design of capacitors and reactors.
The main function of parallel capacitors for high-voltage reactive power compensation is to generate reactive power locally and improve power factor. The main function of the series reactor for reactive power compensation is to suppress harmonic currents from entering the compensation branch, avoid possible resonance between the compensation branch and the power system, and limit the inrush current during closing.
The filtering compensation device utilizes the principle of series resonance between filtering capacitors and filtering reactors to form a low impedance frequency band of a specified frequency in the filter branch on the circuit, thereby bypassing the specified harmonic current and reducing the interference and harm of harmonic current. At the same time, be careful to avoid parallel resonance that may occur between the filter and the power system at certain frequency points.
